WHAT WE DO

The Foundation provides financial support to mission-appropriate non-profit agencies who partner with their local FCIDD Participating Clubs to submit a grant for programmatic funding.  The Foundation also supports research for I/DD through their support of the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Since 2004, FCIDD has supported non-profit organizational I/DD programs with more than $3,000,000 in grant funds, and over $4,000,000 in clinical and project research at the Civitan International Research Center.

The McNulty Scientist Award is given by the Foundation each year in honor of Tommy McNulty and his family, who pioneered research  and outreach efforts for developmental disabilities. Tom and Mary McNulty and their son Tommy were the driving force behind the creation of the Civitan International Research Center, housed in the University of Alabama, Birmingham School of Medicine
